The Natter section is where you set the conversation topics for your event. These topics are the heart of the participant experience: they're the questions each pair discusses during their 1:1 conversations, so getting them right shapes the quality of every Natter.
This is Section 2 of event setup. You'll reach it after completing Section 1: Event Details.
Adding Topics in a Custom Event
If you're building a custom event (the option simply labelled Event), the Natter section starts empty, showing a single + Add Topic button.
To build your topics:
Click + Add Topic.
A Topic 1 field appears. Enter your topic as free text - this is the question or prompt participants will discuss.
To add more, click + Add Topic again and repeat. Each new topic is numbered in order (Topic 2, Topic 3, and so on).
There's no limit you need to worry about here. Add as many topics as suit the length and purpose of your event. (See Best Practices for guidance on how many topics work well for a given event duration.)
Using Topics from a Template
If you started from one of the templates rather than a custom event, your Natter section won't be empty; it comes pre-populated with suggested topics chosen to fit that template's purpose.
These are fully editable. You can:
Keep them as they are.
Adapt or tweak the wording to suit your event.
Add further topics with + Add Topic.
Remove any you don't need.
Templates are a useful starting point for idea generation; a way to see well-formed example topics and shape them to your needs, rather than starting from a blank page.
What Happens Next
Once your topics are set, the next section is Tags. Move on to Section 3 to organise and categorise your event.
