8. Live Natter Test Sessions & Natter Ready Validation

Learn how Natter validates technical readiness through Tech Checks and Live Natter Test Sessions before wider deployment.

What Is a Live Natter Test Session?

A Live Natter Test Session is a structured validation exercise facilitated by the Natter team.

The purpose is to confirm that users can successfully access Natter, connect to audio and video services, and participate in a live session before wider rollout within an organisation.

Live Test Sessions are typically conducted following successful Tech Check completion and provide an opportunity to validate real-world usage in a controlled environment.

What Is Natter Ready?

"Natter Ready" is Natter's validation process for confirming that users, environments, and network configurations have been successfully tested prior to broader adoption.

The goal is to identify and resolve potential issues before a live event takes place.

Becoming Natter Ready typically involves:

  • Completing the Natter Tech Check

  • Reviewing any identified issues

  • Validating representative users and environments

  • Participating in a Live Natter Test Session

  • Confirming successful audio, video, and connectivity performance

When Should a Live Test Session Be Run?

A Live Natter Test Session is recommended when:

  • Your organisation is onboarding Natter for the first time

  • Multiple users will be participating in future sessions

  • Natter will be used across different locations or regions

  • Your organisation operates within a managed IT environment

  • Additional confidence is required before a live event

In many cases, organisations complete onboarding successfully without requiring extensive testing. However, a Live Test Session provides additional assurance when validating larger deployments or more complex environments.

Who Should Attend?

We recommend including representative users from the environments that will ultimately use Natter.

Examples may include:

  • Office-based users

  • Remote workers

  • VPN-connected users

  • Different geographic regions

  • Different departments or business units

A minimum of four participants is typically recommended to provide a representative validation group.

What Happens During the Session?

Live Natter Test Sessions typically take around 20 minutes to complete.

The session usually begins in Google Meet or another conferencing platform chosen by the organisation.

This allows attendees to:

  • Confirm attendance

  • Resolve any immediate access issues

  • Review the session objectives

Once all participants are present, a Natter session link is distributed and participants join Natter together.

The Natter team will then validate:

  • Platform access

  • Session entry

  • Audio functionality

  • Video functionality

  • Participant experience

  • Connectivity stability

Participants will also have the opportunity to experience the Natter platform in the same way they would during a live event.

What Does Success Look Like?

A successful validation session typically demonstrates that participants can:

  • Access Natter successfully

  • Join sessions without difficulty

  • Use audio and video successfully

  • Participate in conversations without disruption

  • Achieve consistent results across representative environments

Where issues are identified, the Natter team will work with the organisation to investigate and resolve them before wider rollout.

Common Outcomes

Following a Live Natter Test Session, organisations typically fall into one of three categories:

Fully Validated

All participants successfully access and use Natter with no significant issues identified.

Minor Follow-Up Required

A small number of users require additional troubleshooting or environmental validation before broader deployment.

Further Investigation Required

Network, security, authentication, or device-related issues have been identified and additional investigation is recommended before proceeding.

Preparing for a Live Test Session

To ensure the session runs smoothly, we recommend that participants:

  • Complete the Natter Tech Check beforehand

  • Use the same device and network they expect to use in future sessions

  • Join from their normal working environment

  • Notify their IT team of any known restrictions or requirements

This helps ensure the validation reflects real-world usage as closely as possible.
