How Does Broadcast Work?
Broadcast is the 'main room' where everyone taking part in the Natter is present. It has two areas:
Stage: where people can be seen and heard, present content, share videos, and communicate with everyone else.
Audience: where participants arrive when they join. Their microphones and cameras are off, but they can see the Stage, write in the chat, raise their hand, and send emojis.
People can be moved on and off the Stage throughout the Natter. When the 1:1 conversations begin, Broadcast pauses automatically, and resumes once everyone reconvenes.
How Do I Change My Media Settings?
Click the chevron icon located beside either your camera or microphone buttons on screen. A modal will appear allowing you to change your preferred audio and video settings.
How Do I Share My Screen?
Step 1: At the bottom of the screen, select the Present icon.
Step 2: Select the Tab, Window, or entire Screen you'd like to share. Your screen will then be displayed to the room.
How Do I Play a Video?
For the best quality, upload any video content to Natter during the Natter creation stage, ahead of time - [Event Details > Event Media > Video]
Step 1: At the bottom of the screen, select the Present icon.
Step 2: Select the pre-loaded video file you wish to play (recommended), or enter the URL of the video. Then choose the point at which to start playing.
Step 3: Playback begins. You can Pause, Stop, and adjust the Volume using the controls displayed.
How Do I Moderate the Chat?
Use the Moderate Chat toggle to review messages before they appear. Once switched on, any message sent to the chat must first be approved by a Host. The sender sees "Your message is pending approval by a Moderator" until it's approved; if you reject it, they see "Message rejected". If you're receiving a high volume of messages, you can select Approve All.
How Do I Record Broadcast?
There are two ways to record:
1. During Natter creation, in Event Details > Event Settings > select Record a video of this Event - this automatically records all Broadcast.
2. During the Natter, turn recording on and off at your discretion using the Record Broadcast button at the bottom of your screen.
When recording is on, you'll see "Event is being recorded" at the top-left of your screen. You can select Stop Recording at any point. Once the Natter has finished, you'll be able to download the associated files.
