Ensuring your hardware is working properly is crucial for a seamless Natter Event experience. Below are common hardware issues that may arise and troubleshooting steps to resolve them.
1. Video Issues
Camera Issues
🔴 Problem: Your camera is not detected, appears black, or is blurry.
🛠 Solutions:
Check camera selection: Ensure the correct webcam is selected in the Natter Tech Check.
Grant camera permissions: If prompted, allow Natter access to your camera.
Close other applications: Apps like Zoom or Teams may already be using your camera.
Restart your browser: Close and reopen the browser to reset camera access.
Check privacy settings: Some operating systems (e.g., macOS, Windows) require you to manually enable camera permissions.
Try a different browser: Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge for best compatibility.
2. Audio Issues
Microphone Issues
🔴 Problem: Participants cannot hear you, or your audio sounds distorted.

Check microphone selection: Ensure the correct microphone is selected in the Natter Tech Check (see Natter Tech Check).
Grant microphone permissions: If prompted by the browser, allow Natter access to your microphone.
Check mute settings: Ensure your mic isn’t muted in Natter or at the system level.
Test in another application: Open another app (Zoom, Google Meet) to confirm your microphone is functioning.
Restart device: A simple restart can resolve many microphone issues.
Speaker/Audio Issues
🔴 Problem: You cannot hear other participants, or audio is cutting out.

Check speaker selection: Ensure the correct audio output is selected in the Tech Check.
Increase volume: Make sure your system volume is turned up.
Test audio output: Try playing a YouTube video or other sound to verify audio is working.
